NetDeposit

The Challenge:

Access began working with NetDeposit, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Utah-based Zions Bank, in 2005. The company had had almost no visibility since 2000, when the CEO had been instrumental in helping implement Check21. The federal law allows recipients of paper checks to create digital versions for settlement, thus eliminating the need for costly handling of paper instruments. Dark for years, NetDeposit had been quietly developing software that would let banks sell Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) services to businesses that were tired of transporting paper checks to the bank. But the Check21 story had expired and banking media were either retooling old payments stories or ignoring the space altogether.

The Solution:

Access Communications developed a three-phased approach to bring payments and NetDeposit back into the media spotlight. The outreach campaign to financial and business press re-introduced NetDeposit and RDC as a tool for banks to leverage against competitors. Leveraging customer success and CEO Danne Buchannan's visionary reputation as proof points, the Access team differentiated NetDeposit's value proposition from other financial services software startups.

The Results:

Within 60 days, Access brought NetDeposit from stealth player to the recognized leader in its space.

  • Cover Story in ABA Banking Journal that called RDC "the opportunity you can't miss"
  • Seven in-depth feature stories in target financial publications
  • Monthly sales leads jumped from 3 to 12 per month, year over year
  • CEO recommendation of Access to affiliate software company

In only two months, NetDeposit's profile in the financial services industry was raised from virtually non-existent to the company that banks call on first to bring their cash management services up to date and lead competition in remote deposit.
